Potential Offshore Winds & Elevated Fire Danger this week in Los Angeles County (National Weather Service)
From the National Weather Service:
"...Surface high pressure building into the Great Basin by Wednesday (May 1, 2013) will set the stage for a possible late-season offshore wind event across Southwest California. The offshore trends will cause temperatures to rise by midweek in the valleys and foothills, peaking in the mid to upper 90s on Thursday (May 2) and Friday (May 3).
The easterly winds will also bring a drying trend to the area, with humidity values potentially dropping into the single digits for many areas late in the week. The combination of gusty winds, hot temperatures and a very dry air mass will bring elevated fire danger to the area, most significant across the valleys and mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Wednesday through Friday..."
