Homicide suspect turns himself in
On April 27, 2013, at approximately 4:20 P.M., officers of the Corona Police Department responded to the 800 block of Railroad St., reference a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 26 year-old male and a 34 year-old female victim inside a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated, and is listed in stable condition.
The initial investigation revealed that the suspect was the female victim’s 26 year-old estranged husband.
Detectives were notified and began an investigation which resulted in the service of multiple search warrants in Corona and Riverside County. As the investigation continued, Corona Police received information from the Santa Ana Police Department that the suspect had turned himself in. Corona Police detectives met with the suspect in Santa Ana and he was later transported to and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of murder and attempted murder.
The names of the victims and suspect are being withheld until the family of the deceased is notified.
