Re: Personal Injury Crash CR 1000 East and Williams County Road L


On Saturday April 27, 2013 at approximately 10:22 PM Steuben County Communication received a call of a personal injury crash on CR 1000 E at the intersection of Williams County road L.

When officers arrived scene a 1994 Lincoln Town Car was located in the field on the west side of CR 1000 East. Through the investigation it was found Logan D Norton, 30 yro from Pleasant Lake, was traveling west on CR L in Williams county. Logan failed to stop at the stop sign at CR L and CR 1000 East in Steuben County and his vehicle went off the Westside of the roadway at the “T” intersection. Logan’s vehicle then struck an earth embankment and a fence before coming to rest in a field.

The front seat passenger, Nathan D Norton 34 yro from Pleasant Lake, sustained a broken hip, and facial injuries in the crash. Nathan was transported from the scene to Parkview Regional Medical center by the Samaritan helicopter.

Logan refused medical treatment at the scene and was taken to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation and later charged with driving while intoxicated. Logan was then transported to Cameron ER where he was treated for a broken hand and facial injuries.

It appears neither Logan nor Nathan were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The airbags in the vehicle did deploy.

Assisting the Steuben County Sheriff’s office were the Hamilton Police Department, Indiana State Police, Hamilton Fire Rescue, Steuben County EMS and Steuben County Communication.
