2 Injured in Traffic Crash
Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a one car personal injury crash on Peavine Street near Oak Grove Road in Lagrange Township, Cass County Michigan on April 27th, 2013 at at 7:16PM.
Witnesses report that a vehicle driven by 16 year old Shawn Haley from Dowagiac, was driving westbound on Peavine Street when he attempted to pass another vehicle traveling westbound. Mr. Haley lost control of his vehicle, over corrected and overturned his vehicle. Mr. Haley was airlifted to South Bend Memorial by MedFlight for treatment of his injuries. The passenger, 17 year old Katelyn Brooks was transported to Dowagiac Lee Memorial Hospital for her injuries.
Seat belts were worn at the time of the accident.
Pride Care, MedFlight, Dowagiac Fire and Pogakon Tribal Police assisted deputies at the scene which remains under investigation.
