Absecon Restaurant Fire
On April 26, 2013 at approximately 01:20 am the Absecon Police Department along with the Absecon Fire Department responded to the Mt. Fuji Japanese Restaurant at 136 White Horse Pike for a reported fire. Upon police arrival, it was discovered that the roof towards the front of the restaurant was on fire. The flames engulfed a small portion of the roof along with a neon Mt. Fuji sign near the front entrance. Due to the quick response of the Absecon Fire Department no other property was damaged and the fire was quickly extinguished. As a result of the fire, traffic westbound on the White Horse Pike was shut down to one lane for an hour. The restaurant was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. This case is still under investigation at this time.
