National Volunteer Appreciation Week April 21-27. Sheriff’s Department Says Thank You To Their Volunteers For Their Service

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Says Thank You To Our Volunteers For Their Contributions

Greetings to the Los Angeles County Community,

Please join us as we celebrate “National Volunteer Week” (April 21-27). The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department along with Sheriff Baca and his staff would like to acknowledge all of their outstanding volunteers.

Over the past year, our selfless volunteers provided more than 476,000 hours of service to all 23 Sheriff Patrol Stations and various units. Their assistance allows our sworn and civilian staff to focus their efforts on providing safety services to the community.

Our volunteers provide service in a variety of ways within the department. There is over 30 different volunteer classifications from providing assistance at the station counter, to helping with traffic management, assisting our detective bureau, vacation checks, community presentations, providing training support, performing data entry. Many of our volunteers gain training in specialty areas and also bring skills from the private sector that assist us in accomplishing our mission.

Our volunteers continuously demonstrate their value to our organization and community. Their pleasant attitude and concern for our community members are always present during their day-to-day interactions.

The Sherriff’s Department would like to thank our fantastic volunteers; every one of them is an invaluable member of our family. Please join us this week in acknowledging them and their important contribution to our community.
