Modesto – On April 20, 2013 at 9:45 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call of several subjects fighting on the side of the roadway near the intersection of Lassen Avenue and Dallas Street. A second 911 call reported that a person had been shot. When deputies arrived they found two victims, a 58 year old female from Modesto who had non-life threatening injuries and a 24 year old male who was pronounced dead at the scene. The female was transported to a local area hospital.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators worked through out the night processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses in order to determine what led to the shooting. As of this press release detectives are waiting for positive identification of the victim. Detectives are not releasing any other details regarding the homicide investigation at this time.
