Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office
Thursday April 18th, 2013 :: 11:59 a.m. CDT

(Oklahoma City) The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and have additional DUI patrols targeting drivers operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs in Oklahoma County. The event is planned for April 20, 2013.

The checkpoint and patrols will start at 10:00pm on Saturday and end at 3:00am on Sunday (April 21st). As with all DUI's we will maintain a zero tolerance policy and violators will go to jail.

The DUI checkpoint and patrols is part of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office's participation in the More Cops, More Stops event across the state targeting people who violate traffic laws.

"It's simple, don't drink and drive", said Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel. "We are very active at removing dangerous DUI drivers from our roads, their actions often result in the death of innocent bystanders, and that is not acceptable."

Please don't drink and drive - EVER!
