A Board of Water Supply (BWS) contractor is scheduled to begin reconstruction of the damaged portion of Mailiilii Road in Waianae on or about April 15, 2013. Barring unforeseen circumstances, repairs should be completed by mid-June. A water main break on a 20-inch transmission main on January 19, 2013, washed out a significant portion of Mailiilii Road. This portion of Mailiilii Road is structurally unsafe and impassable.
Motorists are advised to continue to use alternate routes and avoid the area as construction vehicles and heavy equipment access the area. The BWS apologizes for any difficulties caused by the situation and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
