Motorists on Waialae Ave., between Kapahulu Ave. and 1st Ave., are advised that only one of the two Koko Head-bound lanes is open today as Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews repair a leak on an 8-inch main. The Ewa-bound lanes remain open and a special duty officer is assisting with traffic.
The leak, at 3011 Waialae Ave., was reported to the BWS shortly before 10:30 p.m. last night. It has cut off water service to about 30 customers, including low-rise apartment buildings, businesses, and homes. A water wagon has been set up at 1111 1st Avenue for these customers.
The main was originally installed in 1931.
