Weekly Crime Summary Time Period: March 31st – April 6th

Homicides – Between 3/31-4/6, there were no homicides. In 2013 YTD, there have been five homicides. In 2012 YTD, there were six homicides.
Rape – Between 3/31-4/6, there were no reported rapes. In 2013 YTD, there have been five reported rapes. In 2012 YTD, there were eleven reported rapes.
Robberies – Between 3/31-4/6, there were six reported robberies. There were four armed robbery and two strong-arm robberies. Five incidents occurred between 4:00pm-9:00pm. During this time period, 50% incidents occurred in District IV. In 2013 YTD, total robberies are down approx. 4% from 2012.

Aggravated Assaults – Between 3/31-4/6, there were 15 reported incidents of aggravated assault. Those incidents include two domestic violence incidents. During this period, there were 9 ADW-Gun incidents (7 gang-related incidents). In District I, there were four gang-related assault incidents during this time period. In 2013 YTD, aggravated assaults are up approx. 34% from 2012.
Residential Burglary – Between 3/31-4/6, there were five reported residential burglaries. Three incidents occurred between 1:00pm-5:00pm. During this time period, District I had two reported burglaries (both in RD 2812). In 2013 YTD, residential burglaries are up approx. 14% from 2012.
Comm/Other Structure Burglary – Between 3/31-4/6, there were two reported comm/other structure burglaries. In 2013 YTD, there have been 42 reported incidents. In 2012 YTD, there 35 were reported incidents.
Grand Theft Auto – Between 3/31-4/6, there were 14 reported stolen vehicles. Peak times of occurrence were between 5:00pm-9:00pm (6 incidents) and 12:00am-5:00pm (6 incidents). Peak days of occurrence were Wednesday (4) & Saturday (3). The most frequent vehicles stolen were 90’s model Honda Civics (4). During this time period, there were also two reported stolen vehicles in West Compton (RD 2872). In 2013 YTD, GTAs are up approx. 31% from 2012.
Vehicle Burglary – Between 3/31-4/6, there were 8 reported vehicle burglaries. Five incidents occurred between 1:00am-4:00am. During this time period, there were three vehicle burglaries in District I (3 in RD 2812). In 2013 YTD, there have been 79 reported incidents; up approx. 43% from 2012.
