High School Student Arrested For Cyber Threats Against Another Student 
On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Burbank Police communications center received several phone calls, regarding possible threats towards a student, at a local high school.
The threat, posted on a Twitter account, indicated a desire to harm the student and referenced past national school shootings. One anonymous caller identified the alleged suspect and victim as students of John Burroughs High School.
Police personnel immediately began an investigation including interviewing the alleged victim and suspect. As a result of the investigation, we have arrested a 16 year-old male student of John Burroughs High School for 422 PC-Terrorist Threats.
This appears to be an isolated incident and all involved individuals have been identified and interviewed.
This incident came to the attention of the police department through concerned students and parents. The police department would like to thank those individuals who came forward, as soon as they were aware of this cyber-bullying incident. Their willingness to become involved resulted in the immediate identification and arrest of the individual involved.
The Burbank Police Department and Burbank Unified School District continue to work together on all cyber threats or bullying incidents directed at students and staff to ensure the safety of everyone.
