On March 28, 2013 the Gardena Police Department reached out to the community through the local news media to help with identifying a robbery suspect. The suspect robbed a UPS store in Gardena on December 12, 2012 and again on March 4, 2013.

After the story was reported by the media our Detectives received several tips which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of one of the suspects. On April 8, 2013 Samuel David Wynn Jr., 20 years old of Los Angeles, was arrested for robbery.

We would like to thank the media and those that called and provided assistance. We are once again asking for the communities help with this case. During the first robbery on December 12, 2012, the suspect grabbed a female customer and held her at gun point, using her as a shield as he robbed the store and several other customers. The female hostage however left the location prior to the police arriving. If you were the victim or you know who the victim is, please contact Detectives.
