DUI/DL CHECKPOINT RESULTS
Officers Arrest 8 Drivers for License Violations
Petaluma, California – On Friday night, March 29, 2013, between the hours of 6pm and 2am Saturday morning, the Petaluma Police Department conducted two DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoints in the City of Petaluma. The first checkpoint was SB Sonoma Mountain Parkway at Wellington Place between 6pm and 9pm. The checkpoint recorded the following activity:
795 vehicles passed through the checkpoint
670 drivers were screened by officers for signs of DUI or license violations
37 drivers were sent into a secondary evaluation area for further investigation
6 drivers were arrested
0 drivers were arrested for DUI
2 drivers were arrested and cited for driving on a suspended license
4 drivers were arrested and cited for driving without a license
2 Vehicle was impounded for 30 days
The second checkpoint was SB Petaluma Blvd South at Crystal Lane between 10pm and 2am. The checkpoint recorded the following activity:
85 vehicles passed through the checkpoint
85 drivers were screened by officers for signs of DUI or license violations
10 drivers were sent into a secondary evaluation area for further investigation
2 drivers were arrested
0 drivers were arrested for DUI
1 drivers were arrested and cited for driving on a suspended license
1 drivers were arrested and cited for driving without a license
1 vehicles were impounded for 30 days
There were no DUI arrests made at the two checkpoints. Funding for this program has been provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
