On 03/27/2013 at around 2:00 pm, Steuben County Sheriff’s detectives arrested 27 year old Danny L. Squier Jr of rural Ashley, Indiana on a warrant charging Squire with class D felony battery to a child less than 14 years of age. The arrest was a result of a 6 week Sheriff’s Office investigation into an alleged biting incident that was said to have occurred in February of 2013 involving Squier and a 4 year old child. Squier was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Steuben County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a court appearance. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Saint Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, the Saint Joseph County Division of Child Services, the Steuben County Division of Child Services, and the Angola Police Department.
