A man and woman were seen acting suspiciously near a home in the City of La Mirada on March 18, 2013, and were startled by an observant neighbor.
The man and woman fled in a dark blue Mercedes Benz with a light blue convertible toptop with red paper plates. It is believed these same individuals are responsible for a residential burglary that occurred in the area on the same day.
Based on the information, a crime teletype was broadcast to Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies describing the possible suspects and a detailed vehicle description. The information was also forwarded to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
On Tuesday afternoon, March 26, Norwalk Sheriff's Station Deputy Gabriel was patrolling in the City of La Mirada when he saw a blue Mercedes Benz which matched the suspect vehicle, so he stopped and contacted the occupants. Deputy Gabriel recovered laptop computers, miscellaneous jewelry, and marijuana from within the vehicle.
During the investigation, it was discovered the owner of one of the laptop computers resided in the area of the traffic stop. Deputies were sent to the residence and discovered the home completely ransacked. The homeowner was contacted and subsequently identified the stolen property.
The suspects were charged with residential burglary.
44 year old Suspect Terrence Arline and 25 year old Robert McGowan, residents of Los Angeles, were booked at the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station. Their bail has been set at $50,000.00 dollars, respectively.
The female has not yet been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
