Attention Rutgers Community,
The Rutgers Police Department is investigating a criminal sexual contact which was reported to have occurred on Thursday March 14, 2013 at approximately 9:50PM on the paved walking path at the base of the Hickman Footbridge on the Loree Gym side located on the Cook/Douglass Campus.
The victim reported that while walking toward the Douglass Student Center, a male assailant approached her from behind, then touched her upper thighs and buttocks. The victim stated that she pulled away from the assailant then proceeded toward the Student Center. The assailant left the scene in the direction of the Loree Gym.
The assailant is described as a Hispanic male or light skinned black male, approximately 5'08" in height, 140 to 150 lbs, late teens early twenties, wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and white or silver sneakers.
The Rutgers Police Department is actively investigating this incident and asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to please contact the Rutgers Police Department's Investigations Unit at (732) 932-8025 or (732) 932-7211.

Remain alert and aware of the people and circumstances around you;
Immediately report suspicious activity to local law enforcement; and
Walk in groups when traveling during late night hours.
