INCIDENT: DUI HIT AND RUN ARREST
LOCATION: I STREET AT SUNNYSLOPE AVENUE
SUSPECTS: CLINT E. MOHENG, 22 YEAR OLD, PETALUMA RESIDENT
SUMMARY: On the above date and time, residents reported a vehicle had struck a utility pole at I Street and Sunnyslope Ave. The collision caused power lines to fall to the ground and block I Street. Police and Fire responded to the scene. The driver fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Officers located the driver, suspect Moheng, near his residence a short distance away. Officers conducted an investigation and determined Moheng was DUI. He was arrested for DUI and Hit and Run.
Moheng was one of seven DUI drivers arrested over the weekend in Petaluma. Fifty-five DUI drivers have been arrested since January 1st, compared to forty-eight during the same time period last year. Additionally five DUI Hit and Run collisions have occurred since January 1st. The police department deploys a DUI traffic officer Thursday through Sunday to specifically target DUI drivers. The traffic unit also conducts sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, DUI probation checks, and targets habitual DUI offenders in an effort to reduce DUI.
