On 02-28-13 at approximately 11:39 AM, deputies from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate suspicious activity that had occurred at a Lake James home. Deputies arrived and found evidence to believe a subject had entered a home, but had possibly been interrupted by the owner returning home, left the home barefoot. Through the investigation, deputies located and began speaking with Dustin Cook. Probable cause was developed to arrest Dustin for residential entry, as no items were believed to be missing from the victims residence. Dustin was also arrested for child neglect, as he was caring for a 2 yoa child at the time, and had left the child alone while he went to burglarize the home.
