The Farmington Hills Police Department is investigating several reports of theft of catalytic converters from autos.

The Farmington Hills Police Department is investigating several reports of theft of catalytic converters from autos. This has become a Metro Detroit area problem especially at apartment complexes, businesses and small industrial complexes. Thefts typically occur on high-sitting vehicles; trucks, SUV’s because criminals can easily access the under-carriage of the vehicle and quickly remove the converters. Farmington Hills Police is advising all residents that if you notice any suspicious activities and/or vehicles please call the Farmington Hills Police immediately.

Farmington Hills Police Crime Prevention Section reminds all residents to park their vehicles in a secure area or garage if possible. If anyone has any information about who may be responsible for these larcenies, please call the Farmington Hills Police Department at (248) 871-2610.
