Suspect Arrested in 2 Armed Home Invasion Robberies of Women in East LA. LASD Detectives Seeking Public Info.

Suspect Josue Vasquez, a 27-year-old resident of East Los Angeles, was arrested for two home invasion robberies that occurred in the East Los Angeles area. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed two counts of robbery with gun enhancements on Vasquez.

On January 9, 2013, masked and wearing gloves, a man broke into a home on the 3600 block of Floral Drive. He approached the victim from behind at gunpoint as she was opening the door to her bedroom and forced her to kneel at her bedside as he ransacked her room. The suspect took her money, purse, jewelry and a cell phone.

Approximately two weeks later, on January 25, 2013, a masked and gloved man rang the doorbell of a home in the 3500 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue. When the victim opened the front door the suspect forced his way in at gunpoint. He forced her to sit on the sofa with her head down while he ransacked her home taking her money, purse and a cell phone.

Suspect Josue Vasquez was identified by a photographic line-up and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Wednesday, February, 13, 2013, at approximately 8:30 in the morning he was arrested at his residence in the 200 block of North Ditman Avenue, East Los Angeles. He was booked at East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station and is currently being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Detectives believe there may be additional unreported home invasion robberies committed by Suspect Vasquez.

He is described as a 5’6’’ Hispanic man, weighing 200 lbs., with short brown hair and brown eyes.
