Narrative:
On February 13th, 2013 at approximately 1135 hours, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau responded to an injury traffic collision at the intersection of Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Live Oak Street.

The investigation revealed that Jose Pacheco was stopped westbound in the # 1 lane of Thousand Oaks Boulevard at the intersection of Live Oak Street. Pacheco was stopped for a pedestrian who was using the marked crosswalk to cross from the north side of Thousand Oaks Boulevard to the south side. Damian Gravino was traveling westbound in the #1 lane of Thousand Oaks Boulevard approaching Pacheco’s location. Gravino’s car collided into the rear of Pacheco’s car. The pedestrian had already cleared the westbound lanes and was not involved in the collision.

Pacheco and Gravino were treated at the scene and then transported to Los Robles Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is encouraged to call the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau at (805) 494-8271.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers to pay attention while driving near crosswalks and to actively look for pedestrians crossing the street. Additionally, pay attention for other cars on the roadway that might be slowing or stopping for pedestrians. This is critical when traveling on major streets like Thousand Oaks Boulevard at lunchtime when pedestrian traffic increases.
