Lanes to be Restricted on State Road 64 in Oakland City
Repairs needed to Norfolk Southern rail crossing
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation is announcing that State Road 64 (S.R. 64) will be restricted in Oakland City.
Working in conjunction with Norfolk Southern Railroad officials, S.R. 64 will be restricted immediately east of State Road 357. This will allows crews from Norfolk Southern Railroad to make necessary repairs to their crossing from a recent derailment.
Crews will begin work at the crossing on Thursday, February 21, at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time. Work on the crossing is anticipated to last through 5:00 p.m. local time on Friday, February 22.
Flag persons will be utilized to allow traffic to flow through the work zone. INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
