Sheriff's Office seeking wanted non-compliant registered sex offender Ted J. Benhower. 
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a non-compliant registered sex offender. An arrest warrant was issued on 02/08/2013 by the Steuben Superior Court charging 53 year old Ted J. Benhower with class C felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender. The Sheriff’s Office received information that Benhower was not living at his registered address from a concerned citizen through the Sheriff’s on-line Sex or Violent Offender Registry. Sheriff’s detectives launched an investigation and were able to gather sufficient information to indicate that Benhower was in violation of Indiana’s Sex or Violent Offender Registry law. Benhower is a white male, 5’8” and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Benhower was last known to have a facial hair. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Benhower is asked to contact the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office or Steuben County Crime Stoppers.
