Danvers Police advises residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary during the storm.

Forecasts are predicting white out conditions with very poor visibility, coupled with high wind and possible coastal flooding making for treacherous road conditions which can cause drivers to become disoriented and drive off of the roadways.

A parking ban is in effect starting at 1 am Saturday, February 9th. Parking in municipal public lots is available for those residents without off-street parking.

There is potential for extended power outages in the area. As the storm progresses, the town will evaluate the need to establish an emergency shelter.

Some useful phone numbers:
Emergencies: Dial 911

Non-Emergency Police or Fire related issues: 978.774.1212

In an effort to keep the 911 lines open for emergency response, please do not call 911 to report utility outages.

To report POWER OUTAGES, contact Danvers Electric & Light at 978.774.0005
For GAS outages, contact National Grid Gas at 1.800.233.5325

Although we make our best effort to keep up with our Facebook & Twitter feeds and respond in a timely manner, these accounts are not monitored 24/7 and should not be used to request Police or Fire response or report emergencies.

Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency has posted many preparedness tips on their facebook page and website.

Danvers Fire Department is requesting assistance from the public in clearing out fire hydrants. Please shovel out the hydrants in your neighborhood.
