Town of Tyngsborough, MA Police Department
Thursday February 7th, 2013 :: 02:46 p.m. EST

Incoming snowstorm, please read for information from town emergency officials.

In anticipation of the incoming storm the Police Department in conjunction with other town emergency officials has taken the following action and ask for your cooperation;

Initiated a street parking ban from 7am on Friday until further notice.

Request that all residents heed the warnings of state and local officials including the governor who is anticipated to announce a state of emergency beginning tomorrow. All non-essential travel should be avoided, we expect white out conditions by 3pm tomorrow at the latest. Your presence on the roadways puts yourself and emergency responders in danger.

Please do not call the Police Department to report power outages or to inquire on restoration time, that information should be obtained from National Grid at 1-800-465-1212. Our dispatchers are unlikely to have any additional information about outages and it takes them away from emergency calls they will be receiving during the storm.

An emergency shelter will be established at the Elementary School if the need arises, there will be additional notifications through CodeRed if this occurs.

Please sign up for codeRed if you havent already, additional emergency notifications will be forthcoming through CodeRed.
