2 veteran officers retire from the East Brunswick Police Department as a new officer will be sworn in.

The East Brunswick Department of Public Safety announces the retirement of two veteran officers and the hiring of its newest police officer.

Detective Edward Conlon and Patrolman Anthony Giordano retired from the police department on February 1, 2013.

Detective Conlon was hired on August 17, 1987 and spent 25 ½ years with the township. He was assigned as a Patrolman in the Operations Division and Project 18 Community Policing Unit. He became a Detective in 1998 and served in the Juvenile Division and Investigative Division.

Patrolman Giordano was hired on December 28, 1987 and spent his 25 years of service to the township as a Patrolman both in the Operations Division and Special Operations Unit.

Patrolman Justin Schlusselfeld will join the ranks of the East Brunswick Police Department, tomorrow, February 6, 2013 at his swearing-in ceremony at 3:00PM at the East Brunswick Municipal Conference Room.

Patrolman Schlusselfeld, an East Brunswick resident, is 24 years old and is a graduate of John Jay College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Patrolman Schlusselfeld completed his basic police training at the Newark Police Academy. He was previously employed as a Patrolman with Newark Police Department and the Milltown Police Department.

After completing his field training, Patrolman Schlusselfeld will be assigned to the Patrol Section.
