OPERATION SAFE PASSAGE: Protecting children as they go to and from school.

One of the Mountain View Police Department's Focusing Goals is to: "Ensure a sense of safety on our roadways and in our community." To that end, starting today through Friday, February 8th, 2013, MVPD will have an increased emphasis on enforcing traffic laws in and around school zones. Officers in cars and motorcycles will saturate school areas before and after school with an emphasis to protect children as they go to and from school. In addition, MVPD wants to encourage safe driving so that children and adults who choose to walk or bike can do so in a traffic-safe environment.
