On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, the Lake Elsinore Police and Sheriff's Station will be hosting a town hall meeting for residents interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch program within their community. Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective and least costly answers to reduce crime.

Watch groups are a foundation of community crime prevention; they can be a stepping-stone to community revitalization. The goal of this presentation is to inform participants of the importance of Neighborhood Watch and provide strategies on starting a Neighborhood Watch program within their community. Neighborhood Watch is a community-based program supported by the National Sheriffs' Association. Since its inception in 1972, thousands of communities have established Neighborhood Watches and made a real difference.

Representatives from Code Enforcement, Graffiti Removal and Lake Elsinore Citizens Corp will also take part in the presentation. The location will be at the Lake Elsinore Police and Sheriff Station's Community Room, located at 333 W. Limited Ave, Lake Elsinore. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM promptly.

Residents from the cities of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, and the unincorporated areas of South Corona, Lake Elsinore and Perris within the boundaries of the Lake Elsinore Station service area are encouraged to attend. Anyone interested in attending the meeting is encouraged to contact Officer Baca of the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300 or via Email at: [email protected].
