A power outage in the Downtown and Beach area has occurred from a car crash on 3rd St. Currently areas of Beach St are closed to traffic.
A power outage in the Downtown and Beach area has occurred from a car crash on 3rd St. Currently areas of Beach St are closed to traffic. 
A vehicle struck a telephone pole at the intersection of 3rd St @ Kaye St. The telephone pole has been sheared off and is currently blocking traffic. Due to this, east bound Beach St traffic has been diverted off of Beach St on to Cliff St.
Due to the accident, power has been affected in the Beach area and Downtown Santa Cruz. PG&E is working on restoring power, and the Santa Cruz Fire Dept is working on clearing the roadway.
