... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
6 am CST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for freezing rain and sleet... which is in effect
from midnight tonight to 6 am CST Friday for portions of southeast
Missouri south of a line from Doniphan to Poplar Bluff to Benton.

* Timing... light freezing rain and sleet is forecast to develop
across southeast Missouri after midnight and continue through
daybreak Friday.

* Main impact... the light freezing rain and sleet may result in
hazardous travel conditions for the early morning commute to
work and school Friday.

* Other impacts... sidewalks... steps and other walk ways may become
very slick and hazardous as well.

* Additional information... temperatures will rise rapidly to above
freezing through the morning. Thus any early morning light
wintry precipitation will melt.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
