Sheriff Keith Nygren announces that the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office has received notification from the National Sheriffs’ Association that it will be achieving the “Triple Crown” status with the National Sheriffs’ Association.
In announcing the pending award of Triple Crown the National Sheriff’s Association stated, “Only by attaining simultaneous accreditation, through the Commission on the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA); the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections (CAC) of the American Correctional Association's Commission (ACA); and, the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHA) does a sheriff’s office receive this most prestigious award.”
McHenry County will be the third Sheriff’s Office in the State of Illinois, joining Cook County and DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. We will become only one of 35 other sheriffs’ offices in the United States to have attained this status.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office will be presented the “Triple Crown” award at the National Sheriff’s Association Annual Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 24, 2013.
