Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his office investigated an crash with injuries that occured on M 51 near Swamp St in Wayne township on 12/29/2012 at approx. 1457 hrs.
A southbound vehicle driven by Roger Kirksey 49 yrs of Niles and passengers Dalton Kirksey 18yrs of Niles, Donna McAbee 36yrs of Niles and a juvenile were heading south when Roger Kirksey advises he believes he fell asleep the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and loss control and crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle head on and then rolled and ejected McAbee out of the vehicle. The northbound vehicle was driven by Michelle Rozmarymowski 37yrs of South Bend Indian and passenger Thomas Rozmarynowski 41yrs of South Bend Indiana. Both drivers needed to be extricated from the vehicles. All occupants were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. Airbags were deployed in both vehicles, and safety belts were worn by front seat passengers and the juvenile. Cass County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted on scene by Silver Creek PD, Pokagon Tribal PD, Pride Care ambulance, Life Care ambulance, Wayne Twp Fire and Dowagiac Fire.
