On Tuesday, 18 December 2012 at 12:26 p.m. police were dispatched to Jeffries Street on a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived on scene the victim reported that two males were observed in the alley alongside her residence. The victim stated that she spoke to one of the males who then ran away through the backyard. She found a first floor living room window open and the top lock of the rear entrance door unlocked.

A description was put out to other police units who were responding to the area. A short time later Police Officer Joseph Holland stopped two males fitting the description and after a police investigation the two suspects were arrested.

Arrested were Juan Hernandez, age 23 of 226 Hall Avenue and Carlos Campos-Chavez, age 23 of 331 Oak Street. Both were charged with criminal attempt burglary, bail was set by the Honorable Judge Emery Z. Toth in the amount of $25,000.00 with no 10% option.
