Reminder - today is Outdoor Warning System Test Day. All sirens will be activated at around 1pm for testing.

At 1:00 PM, the Tillamook County Outdoor Warning system will be exercised completely. This exercise tests the primary and backup activation systems, and verifies the operation of the individual sirens throughout the county. All of the sirens in the county will be activated and will sound for approximately 30 seconds, twice. The first sounding will be via primary activation system, and the second will be the backup activation system. In a perfect test, you should hear each siren twice, about 10 minutes apart. Some sirens will be a solid siren tone, and some will be an up and down rising/falling wail. The test should be complete by 1:30 PM.

After today, the County test will only involve the Dam Failure sirens, this will be the last test of the Tsunami Sirens by Tillamook County.

You do not need to do anything when the sirens are activated for the test. You are encouraged to listen for the sirens so you will recognize their sound. This would be a good time to discuss with your family the actions you would take in the event of a real threat, either Tsunami or Dam failure if you live along the Nestucca or Trask rivers.
