A few safety tips to help you protect your credit card online & while shopping during the holiday season
• Contact your credit card company immediately if you think your card has been jeopardized or view suspicious activity. Request a new card to be issued.
• Check your card activity online frequently to make sure there its accurate
• Do not have high limits on the card you use on the internet
• Contact your credit card company to see if they will issue a temporary card during the holidays if you’re spending will be increased.
• Be familiar with your credit card company’s settings and policies regarding traveling and safety.
• Check your credit report several times a year
• Do not carry your PIN with your card
• Do not leave credit card receipts at gas stations or places of business
• Do not use public Wi-Fi sites to look personal information, banking accounts, credit card accounts, etc.
• Use reputable sites and do not make purchases from overseas companies
Do not hesitate to contact your local law enforcement if you believe you have been a victim of identity theft.
