MEDIA RELEASE – DECEMBER 3, 2012
MAN WHO WAS FUGITIVE FOR THREE YEARS ARRESTED AND RETURNED TO HUNTERDON PLEADS GUILTY

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced that Christopher Polovina, age 34, of Newport Beach, California was returned to Hunterdon County after being a fugitive for three years and pleaded guilty on November 15, 2012.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “Christopher Polovina’s guilty plea includes one count of 3rd degree Terroristic Threats stemming from an incident in February 2009 where he threatened to harm his ex-wife. Mr. Polovina failed to appear on that charge and a bench warrant was issued in June 2009. He was subsequently arrested on that warrant at an airport in Florida in November of 2012 and was returned to Hunterdon County. Mr. Polovina’s guilty plea also includes a 4th degree Stalking charge for various acts that occurred between March and July of 2012, and a disorderly persons Contempt charge for violating a restraining order.”
The Honorable Stephen B. Rubin, J.S.C. set a sentencing date for January 15, 2013. Mr. Polovina faces 3 to 5 years in state prison on the Terroristic Threats, 18 months on the Stalking, and 6 months on the Contempt charge. He is out on bail pending sentencing. Judge Rubin set bail at $20,000.
Assistant Prosecutor Dawn Solari handled the case for the Prosecutor’s Office.
