Details

On November 27, 2012 at approximately 1140 hours Gilroy Police Officers responded to a reported burglary. The female victim told officers that she was at the home alone. The victim was a guest at the home. She heard someone knocking at the front door and ringing the door bell. She did not answer the door and didn’t see who was there. Moments later the victim heard footsteps inside the home and someone yelling, “Police, Police”. She moved toward the announcements and found the two suspects on the second floor landing.

Suspect #1 confronted the victim and demanded that she surrender all valuables in the home. This suspect was armed with a blunt instrument and forced the victim into various rooms within the residence. Racial slurs were directed at the victim, she was forced into a secluded room and told to wait there and the suspects fled. It appears that the suspects gained access into the home by prying a rear window open.

The victim further described the suspects as follows: Suspect #1 was about 6-0 tall and thin. Suspect #2 was a few inches shorter than Suspect #1 and the same age range. Both suspects were wearing black colored hooded sweat shirts.

This event is being investigated by the Gilroy Police Department’s Investigations Unit.
