On Thursday, November 08, 2012 at approximately 1140 hours the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and Sonoma Valley Fire were dispatched to the 19300 block of Lovall Valley Court in the unincorporated area of Sonoma regarding an industrial accident. Upon arrival it was determined that an arborist and a crane company were hired to remove a tree for a homeowner. The tree was cut down from the backyard and a crane picked up the tree to put it in the front yard for removal. The victim, Jarrad Plasket a 33 year old arborist from Sonoma, moved under the tree as it was being lowered to the ground by the crane. The tree broke in half and fell on top of Plasket causing major injuries. The victim was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa. He has since been transferred to John Muir Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. Cal OSHA responded to the scene and is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
