LOCATION: 1400 block of Bancroft Avenue, south of Estudillo Avenue.
INVESTIGATING DETECTIVE(S): Sergeant Ted Henderson
SUSPECTS ARRESTED: 2 Juveniles, one male that resides in Oakland and a female that resides in San Leandro.
DETAILS:
On October 15, 2012, approx.. 3:14 PM, The San Leandro Police Department investigated a robbery that occurred in the 1400 block of Bancroft Avenue. The victim stated she and her sister were riding their bicycles home on Bancroft Avenue. Both suspects approached them and they were forced to stop their bicycles. The female suspect demanded to use the bicycles and the victims refused. The female suspect started punching and kicking the victim even when see fell to the ground.
The male suspect rode away on the victims bicycle and both suspects fled the scene.
Officers checked the area for the suspects and bicycle and they were not successful in finding them..
On 11/07/2012, SLPD officers located and arrested the suspects responsible in San Leandro. The suspects were transported to the Alameda County Juvenile Hall and booked. The bicycle has not been located.
Lt. Randall Brandt said, “This robbery was made a priority to our staff. None of us could understand why someone would physically beat someone for no reason when all they were trying to do is return home.”
