Town of North Castle – Restoration Efforts and Weather Notice

Con Edison, as well as the outside companies that they have contracted with, have been working in Town for over a week to address the issues that have occurred due to Hurricane Sandy. There is a tremendous amount of damage to the infrastructure and wires all throughout Town. Con Edison is still advising us of a restoration date of Friday, November 9th for our Town. This may change based upon the current nor’easter that is impacting our area. This nor’easter will be in our area until midnight on Thursday, 11/08. The restoration crews will continue to work through the storm unless the wind speed reaches 39MPH, which will cause them to stop working due to OSHA regulations.

Crews are currently working in the following areas (as well as side streets off of these roads): High Street, Greenway Road, Faraway Road, Route 22 (area north of Cox Avenue to Town line), Chestnut Ridge Road, Hickory Kingdom Road, Kingdom Ridge Road, East Middle Patent Road, and Washington Avenue. There are additional crews working on specific tasks as directed by Con Edison in various parts of Town as well.
