Property theft is Downtown's #1 crime and, while thieves may always find a way to steal, some of it is easily preventable. Unattended property theft is the easiest theft problem to solve just by maintaining control over your personal property! This includes not leaving cell phones on counters or laptops at tables while visiting our Downtown coffee shops. It also includes ladies not leaving purses at their tables while dancing at our Downtown clubs.

Remember it only takes a moment of inattention for your very expensive electronics to walk away and the thief might be anyone you see from a panhandler to someone who looks like a well-dressed business person. If you want to keep it, keep it on you! And please look out for others! If you see someone leaving their valuables unattended let them know that theft is a major problem Downtown!
