Town of North Castle – Sheltering Options

Work continues to cleanup and open the roadways, however the work will continue to progress over the upcoming week. The Town is suggesting that people arrange to stay with friends or family until such time that power is restored.

In the event that you cannot stay elsewhere, there are options available to you.
There is a Warming and Reception Center at the Hergenhan Recreation Center, 40 Maple Avenue in Armonk. The hours are from 7:00 AM through 10:00 PM, however if there is a need for overnight sleeping this will be accommodated. This need must be known by 9:00PM each night so staffing can be arranged.

The Red Cross has established a shelter in Chappaqua at the former Reader’s Digest facility, 480 Bedford Road. This shelter is available 24 hours a day.

Temperatures are expected to be at or near freezing tonight. If you do not have power, via Con Ed or a generator, please find another place to stay so that you and your family are safe and warm overnight.
