INVESTIGATING DETECTIVE: Det. Sgt. Henderson
SUSPECT: Francisco Patino, 22 years of age, San Pablo resident
DETAILS:
On 11-04-12 approximately 12:49AM, a San Leandro Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord occupied by two male subjects. The vehicle pulled over on Washington Ave near Parrott St., and the passenger of the vehicle fled from the car on foot. A perimeter was set up in the area and a search was conducted. An alert SLPD officer observed a subject in a nearby driveway. The officer saw the subject, later identified as Francisco Patino, remove a handgun from his waistband and attempt to throw it under a nearby vehicle. Patino was contacted by SLPD officers and taken into custody without incident. The handgun was recovered. Patino was positively identified as the subject who fled from the original car stop. The 9mm handgun Patino had in his possession was loaded and was reported stolen out of Placer County. The driver of the vehicle was identified and released at the scene.
Lt. Tudor said, “Great observations and diligent teamwork led to the arrest of Mr. Patino. This was a dangerous situation that thankfully ended peacefully.”
