There was a news story covered in the City of Fairfield last night regarding mail theft.  Some residential neighborhoods in that city have been targeted by thieves who were stealing from mail boxes full of mail.  These thieves can steal money and documents from the mail which can provide them with the information needed to conduct identity theft.
 
This Fairfield neighborhood worked together and installed video surveillance systems which eventually recorded the suspects committing the thefts within their neighborhood.  The recordings were forwarded to the police department and they are moving forward on their investigation.  
 
This is a perfect example of community members being good witnesses and being creative and working with the police department in a collaborative effort to solve crime.
