On Sat, Oct. 27, 2012, at 8:07 a.m., Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station deputies responded to reports of a serious traffic collision on Pacific Coast Highway at Rambla Vista, Malibu. Upon their arrival, deputies found the collision involving three vehicles. The occupants had injuries ranging from minor to serious, and the collision had affected all lanes of traffic.
Pacific Coast Highway was immediately closed in both directions, and the closure is expected to remain in effect for several hours. Drivers are urged to avoid the area completely, and use alternate routes. Some alternates include Topanga Canyon, Malibu Canyon, or Kanan Dume Road.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, and the names of the involved parties are not being released at this time.
One person succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.
