Please take steps to prepare for Hurricane Sandy. Even if the storm tracks as expected, NH will still see strong winds and heavy rain.

It is predicted that NH may experience 60 MPH winds and 2-4 inches of rain during the first part of the storm. Many of the trees still have leaves on them and will increase the likelihood of downed trees/branches and utility wires. Please stay away from all down utility wires and assumes they are still live.

Please limit travel during and immediately after the storm to allow emergency and utility crews to clear the roads if necessary. If you need to report a downed tree or need police assistance for a non-emergency problem please call the police department at 772-2929 and limit the use of 911 for emergencies.

If you need any further information on what preparations to take visit the FEMA website at
