Benicia PD to host promotional ceremony on October 3rd at 3:30 pm at Benicia City Council Chambers.

The Benicia Police Department is pleased to announce the following two promotions and the hiring of two new Lateral Police Officers, and a Public Safety Dispatcher. The swearing in ceremony will be tomorrow, Wednesday, October 3rd at 3:30 pm (see attached flyer).

Scott Przekurat was promoted to the position of Police Lieutenant effective on June 1, 2012. Scott began his career in law enforcement with the Marina Police Department in 1990 and later came to BPD in 1991. His previous assignment prior to promotion was Detective Sergeant in our Investigations Division. Scott has taken over the Night Time Lieutenant position and oversees the Special Operations Units (SWAT, K9, Traffic and Volunteers) at the police department.

Damiean Sylvester has been promoted to the position of Police Sergeant that was effective on June 1, 2012. Damiean was hired by BPD in September of 2002 after beginning his career with the Solano County Sheriff's Office. Damiean's previous assignment was as a K9 Officer in our Patrol Division.

Officer Kenyatta Nathaniel was hired by BPD on August 6, 2012. Kenyatta was previously employed by the Sacramento Police Department for six years. She has worked several assignments such as Patrol, Auto Theft Detective, Hostage Negotiations and was a School Resource Officer.

Officer Greg Fernandez was also hired by BPD on August 6, 2012. Greg was previously employed by the Hercules Police Department since 2008. Greg spent the majority of his time at Hercules PD in the Patrol Division and was on their Special Response Team

On September 27th, Erin Jensen began her career with BPD as a Public Safety Dispatcher. Erin has worked in the banking/financial sector and this will be her first employment opportunity with a law enforcement agency.
