On October 1, 2012, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a home invasion robbery occurred on the 700 block of Sylvan Ave. The male victim was walking to his car in the carport when he was confronted by five suspects, one armed with a handgun. The victim was punched in the face by one of the suspects and then escorted back inside his residence where his wife slept. Once inside, the victims were ordered to lie on the floor as the suspects ransacked the home.
The suspects stole cash and a briefcase that contained a handgun before running out of the residence. The victims called 9-1-1 shortly after the suspects ran off.
The suspects wore dark clothing with hoods and the majority of their faces were covered. Detectives are currently following leads and do not believe this to be a random incident.
