UPDATE: Vehicle Used in Robbery Located; Driver and Passenger Possessed Guns and Drugs
On September 14, 2012, a robbery occurred in the city of Lynwood of a courier transporting a large amount of cash. While the courier was in transit, two suspects orchestrated a dynamic vehicle maneuver whereby they boxed the courier in with their vehicles. The suspects robbed the courier of the money at gunpoint and fled the scene. The license plate of one of the vehicle’s was obtained and entered into a criminal database.
A week later, officers from the Huntington Park Police Department conducted a felony traffic stop of the vehicle after an automatic license plate reader picked up the aforementioned wanted vehicle. The occupants of the car were detained pending a robbery investigation. Century Station deputies located two loaded handguns and narcotics inside the vehicle.
The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested for possessing the guns and narcotics. The robbery investigation is still ongoing
